The work challenges the audience to give equal attention to the protagonist’s, while subliminally playing on the audience's preconceived ideas about youth in our modern society and questions who is the author of these proposed stereotypes and of their expectations?
AUTHOR OF EXPECTATION was made in 2016 over 3 weeks with 30 Drama BTEC students from Havering and Lewisham College. A total of 30 short filmic monologues were made during the workshop.
DYSPLA used their signature writing method called the, ‘WHITE BOX PROCESS,’ to support students in creating their own fictional characters and encouraged them to write their character monologues ‘orally’ through vigorous ‘character hot seating’.
